01. The Challenge
Las Iguanas, a vibrant Latin American restaurant chain, needed to modernise its kitchen workflow to handle high volumes of orders efficiently. Their existing kitchen operations relied heavily on printed tickets, which slowed down communication between front-of-house and kitchen staff, especially during peak service times. The challenge was to streamline the order process, reduce errors, and improve overall speed without disrupting the team’s flow.
02. The Solution
We implemented a dual-screen system using Order Display Screens (ODS) for front-of-house and Kitchen Display Screens (KDS) for the kitchen team. These digital systems replaced the reliance on printed tickets, allowing real-time order updates and clearer communication between staff. The ODS displayed incoming orders in a simple, easy-to-read format, while the KDS was optimised for kitchen efficiency — with visual cues for order priority, time tracking, and status updates. The solution was designed to integrate seamlessly with their existing processes, ensuring minimal downtime during setup.
03. The Result
The new ODS and KDS setup significantly improved order management speed and accuracy at Las Iguanas. Kitchen staff could prioritise orders more effectively, reducing preparation times, while front-of-house had instant visibility on order progress. The reduction in paper tickets not only cut costs but also created a cleaner, more organised kitchen environment. Overall, the system helped deliver a smoother service, faster turnaround, and an even better dining experience for guests.
